Gary Welsh, General Manager, Transportation Services Division for the City of Toronto will be the guest speaker and the title of his presentation is The Road Ahead.
The City of Toronto’s Official Plan states “we have to plan in ‘next generation’ terms to make transit, cycling and walking increasingly attractive alternatives to using the car and to move towards a more sustainable transportation system”. The City’s Transportation Services Division is embarking on a plan called “The Road Ahead”, which implements the Official Plan policies, as well as moving minds and changing attitudes, which is every bit as big a challenge as moving people, goods and services.
