June 24, 2011 York University is Canada’s third largest university, with more than 65,000 students, staff, and faculty (including Seneca@York). York is an excellent example of success made possible through sustainable transportation. Learn from York U's Manager of Transportation (and proud York alumna) Nicole Arsenault, who has spent the last 10 years working on developing sustainable transportation options. During that time, York has reversed the modal split on single occupant vehicles by increasing availability of transit, pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, shuttles, carsharing, and carpooling. Construction on campus has also begun for the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension (TYSSE), which is expected to be completed in late 2015.
