Planning and Building Rapid Transit in the Toronto Area: A Century of Proposals, Process, Politics – and Paralysis
Transportation consultant Ed Levy, P.Eng., will summarize his forthcoming book through a free-flowing (and, according to Ed, opinionated) presentation enhanced with more than 30 photographs and maps.
Ed has worked as a transportation planner and advisor since graduating from the University of Toronto in 1957. He formally retired from BA Group in 1999, but continues to work with the firm as Senior Consultant, writes articles on transportation history in the Toronto region, and accepts private assignments. His book is a comprehensive 100-year history of rapid transit planning and implementation in the Toronto region, and is scheduled for release on the Neptis Foundation website in late 2012, with an abridged “hard copy” to follow in early 2013.
Noon in the Metrolinx Executive board room, 20 Bay St., 6th floor
