Transportation Infrastructure P3s - Lessons Learned with Matti Siemiatycki, Associate Professor of Geography and Planning, University of Toronto.
Across Canada, governments of all levels have increasingly embraced public-private partnerships (PPPs) as their preferred approach to deliver large-scale public infrastructure. Nationwide over 200 PPPs have been built or are in various stages of the project planning process, including many in the transportation sector. Nevertheless, the merits of PPPs remain the source of heated political, policy and public debate. Against this backdrop, Matti's presentation identifies the current PPP models commonly used in Canada, provides an assessment of the recent experience with PPPs, and points to strategies to improve future project delivery.
This luncheon will be held in the boardroom at Union Station, on the east side of the Great Hall. Enter at GO Transit Compliance/Prosecution Services.
