Moving into the Future: The Importance of Multi-modal Transportation Planning to the Ontario Economy with John Best, Executive Director, Southern Ontario Gateway Council
Ontario has no coherent strategy for congestion relief other than transit. There is a need for new alliances and new approaches. A greater focus on goods movement as an enabler of the Ontario Economy should be promoted and goods movement infrastructure should be brought on-stream in a timely manner. On the policy side, the provincial government should develop a coordinated, forward-looking goods movement policy, as well as a cross-ministerial, harmonized approach to long-term planning for goods movement corridors. John will discuss issues around land use planning, EA process, gateway investment, and a harmonized regulatory environment.
This luncheon will be held in the boardroom at Union Station, on the east side of the Great Hall. Enter at GO Transit Compliance/Prosecution Services. We begin at noon.
