Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension: Progress a Year Out From Revenue Service
Presented by Joanna Kervin, Director, Third Party, Planning and Property, TTC-TYSSE

The TYSSE project is an 8.6-kilometre extension of the TTC’s Line 1 (Yonge-University subway) from its present terminus at Downsview Station to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre at Highway 7. It will have six new stations, including one at York University. Construction of tunnels and stations started in 2011.

Joanna made a presentation to the GTTC in June 2012, when the first section of tunnelling had just been completed. Now, with tunnels and track complete, and subway stations close to complete, Joanna will give us an update on the project. She will discuss the progress and challenges to date, and the upcoming critical milestones that need to be met to achieve revenue service by the end of 2017.
