Martin Powell, Commissioner, Transportation and Works, City of Mississauga will be the guest speaker and the title of his presentation is " Updates on the Mississauga BRT and Mississauga/ Brampton Hurontario/ Main Rapid Transit Study".

The City of Mississauga, in partnership with GO Transit, is constructing a new busway across the city ( a two-lane, bus only roadway) for Mississauga and GO Transit buses. The new busway will run along the Highway 403, Eastgate Parkway and Eglinton Avenue corridors. This project is currently in the design stage and will be fully constructed by the end of 2012. The presentation will provide an overview of the design elements as well as the associated Mississauga Transit service concept.

The Mississauga/ Brampton Hurontario/ Main Rapid Transit Study is an assessment of how rapid transit service can be introduced along the corridor between Port Credit in Mississauga and downtown Brampton. Improving transit service is one element of the study along with development of appropriate land uses and urban design policies. The presentation will provide an update of the study.
