The City of Hamilton has ambitious plans to continue its trajectory as one of the fastest growing economic centres in Canada, while at the same time achieving more sustainable transportation outcomes.
Brian will highlight some of the initiatives that have been implemented and are ongoing to respond to transportation needs and opportunities in Hamilton. Through the use of examples, he will compare and contrast the degree to which incremental actions have helped advance goals along side larger infrastructure projects.
Brian is Director of Transportation Planning and Parking for the City of Hamilton. He is a Transportation Planner and Engineer with over 25 years of experience in integrated multi-modal planning. After two decades in the private sector, Brian joined the City of Hamilton in 2018 to lead a new Division responsible for a number of key City initiatives. This includes the management of the Hamilton Municipal Parking System, implementation of the Transportation Master Plan, oversight of transportation related development reviews, and the delivery of sustainable mobility programs.
