New technology always involves uncertainty, and when that technology is a motor vehicle in mixed traffic, there is a lot to consider. A trial of a low-speed automated shuttle was initiated by the City of Toronto with its partners the Toronto Transit Commission and Metrolinx to gain experience with integrating automated vehicles into transit systems.
Jennifer will reflect on the challenges and uncertainties encountered along the way, and provide insight into key factors to consider in any public project involving automated vehicles.
