Small, light-weight vehicles called micromobility (and now minimobility) are a hot topic, literally as an e-bike lithium ion battery ignited on a subway on Dec 31 and public opinions flare about road safety, the risks of mixing vehicles of different speed and mass on streets, illegal sidewalk riding and impacts on universal accessibility, impacts from the online delivery app industry, and potential additional micromobility pilots in large urban cities with resource constraints. Join Janet Lo from the City of Toronto’s Transportation Services Division for a presentation on the issues they are grappling with as they work on developing a micromobility strategy for Toronto.
